24 weeks!

Time is sure flying. I can't believe it's summer and almost my birthday! Fourth of July was fun - hubby and I went to a park nearby to watch a fireworks show. It was really nice and baby girl was dancing a bunch. :)

We've been busy getting ready for baby. We have made a few more offers on houses but nothing has worked out yet so we are planning to make things work in our 1 bedroom apartment. This means a lot of our stuff is going in storage but that's ok. When we do end up moving at least a lot of our stuff will already be boxed and ready to move. There may still be time to find a place before she arrives, but we don't want to stress about it, so for us it is best to plan for life in our apartment.

We had our 24 week appointment on Tuesday and got the results of our big ultrasound from last month. The ultrasound showed that baby girl has several cysts in her brain called Choroid Plexus Cysts (CPCs). If you google it you will get about as much information as we got from our doctor. Evidently 1% of all second trimester ultrasounds show these cysts and 99% of the time they are resolved by birth or have absolutely no impact on the baby. In fact, healthy children and adults all over the world are living with these cysts and are not impacted by them. The cysts do raise the likelihood of baby having a chromosomal abnormality like Trisomy 18 or Trisomy 21, however, because the ultrasound and my blood work did not show evidence of any other type of abnormality, the doctor and geneticist are classifying the cysts as "normal" and therefore not indicative of any chromosomal problem. Of course, hubby and I are worried and will be until she is born and we know she is okay. For now though we are having faith that everything is fine and that the cysts will resolve on their own.

Here are the latest stats:

How far along? 24 weeks 3 days

Weight gain? 14 lbs

How big is baby? Dr said she's right on track. My phone apps says that she is almost a foot long and weights over a pound!

Maternity clothes? Oh, definitely.

Food cravings? Slurpees and strawberry ice cream

Labor signs? nothing

Stretch marks? not yet...

How are you feeling? Ok, tired still. It's getting harder to move quickly like when I'm laying on the sofa and want to get up or roll over it's becoming quite an effort. haha

What am I looking forward to? My triple 27 birthday! Turning 27 on the 27th when I'll be 27 weeks pregnant! We don't have anything too exciting planned I just think it's cool. :)

What I miss? Snuggling with hubby. I love my boppy and don't know what I'd do without it but it's pretty impossible to snuggle hubby when there's a pillow in between us.

Sleep? I've been sleeping pretty well lately.

Best moment this week? Hearing her heart beat again, I love it! Also, I've been enjoying seeing her movements for the first time and not just feeling them. Hubby has been able to feel her moving more often but sometimes baby girl gets all quiet when he puts his hand on my stomach. It's like he calms her down which I think is sweet.

Here's me today at 24 wks 3 days
