18 months

My sweet baby girl is flying through her second year. I feel like I'm going to blink and it'll be her second birthday.

She did amazing at her 18 month check-up. She weighed in at 23 pounds 12 ounces and is 32 1/2 inches tall. She got one shot but didn't cry at all. I was so proud! The doctor said she looked perfect and seemed on track developmentally. Because I carried her breach so long the doctors continue to monitor her hip development. So far everything has looked good. The hip angles are a little off but it's not affecting her ability to walk or move so the doctors think it'll straighten out in time.

She's still a good baby (toddler ?! no, she's still my baby). She sleeps well at night and usually takes two naps a day. We are moving towards one nap a day but if she misses her morning nap she can get really fussy so we are trying to slowly transition. She eats OK. Loves carbs like pasta, bread, crackers, popcorn and will usually eat meat if it's not seasoned or sauced too much. We are still working on her veggie eating but she's good with fruits, cheese, and yogurt. She likes milk but during the day she usually just wants water.

She's started watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse more. It's really the only thing that captures her attention. Even then, she only pays attention for a few minutes at a time but it's the cutest thing. If you ask her where the mouseketools come from she'll say "Oh Toodles." She can say the names of all the characters but Mickey is her favorite. Oh, and the hot dog dance at the end of every episode? She loves it! She likes dancing period but especially to the hot dog song. So cute.

Her vocabulary is increasing but she still has plenty of baby talk. She started saying a couple two to three word phrases like "I got you" or "I see you". She can count to 11 and sing her ABC's (even though she usually only gets through A-I or P-Z before getting distracted). Her other favorite words? Vacuum, popcorn, outside, bye-bye, and I love you. She loves saying the names of her friends and family too, as well as naming animals and the sounds they make.

Hubby is almost out of school for summer so we are planning her activities for the next few months. In June I think we are going to take her to toddler gymnastics on Friday mornings, Tuesdays all summer are story-time at the library, and at the end of July Chelsea and Daddy are going to do swim class for two weeks. With play-dates, vacation, and other things that come up I'm sure we'll be plenty busy.

And now for pictures from our 18-month photo shoot.
